The representation of data holds increasing importance in an era in which decisions are made through analytics. How can we define the relationship between data and agency? For example, where do data visualization and Artificial Intelligence intersect or differ? The behind the scenes tools may require critique yet data analytics and representation are powerful mechanisms to propel understanding and change. The work of the Visual Analytics Laboratory at OCAD University as well as examples from creative and applied visualization strategies are included in the presentation.
